Owner name, mailing address, lot size, assessed value and coordinates are filled on effectively every parcel nationally and are omitted. The structure fields are the ones that vary, because they come from county field cards that not every county publishes.

Denominator: parcels with a residential land use code. Fill rates on all parcels, including vacant land and commercial, are lower; on parcels with a building they are higher and the denominator varies by state. We use residential throughout so states compare.
What the Alaska file is used for

Alaska counties publish very few roof and construction codes. Year built and living area are partly covered, and roof age for Alaska is best taken from permit history where a roofing permit exists.
